My husband says he doesn't know how I got through college with the hours I kept. I was very athletic and always doing something -- of course I was 5'8" and weighed 129# back then. I decided not to teach and went back to school to be an RN so I could work on the 11P to 7A shift. The night shift really suited me and I could even work double shifts as long as it was 11PM to 3PM. Those were the days! Unfortunately, my husband Mel is a lark and even though he is retired now he still gets up at least by 6AM and goes to bed most noghts at 8PM. Consequently we don't see much of each other most of the time, but it works out especially well when the grandkids are here because there is someone to watch over them around the clock.

Always beware of Misty. It is very hard to get in our door because she pushes it closed with her feet or body, and if you do get in the door LOOK OUT she will trip you and be on you in a minute, and that is if she likes you!

Flicka was a wonderful experience for us. Our Akita found her first, so we all got up tp welcome her into the world. Grandaughter Sierra learned how to imprint a newborn foal, and Flicka was very cooperative with the process. Velvet and Misty both wanted to be the mom, but since Velvet had the milk, and Misty the Akita didn't, it was easily settled.
